How do I know what to feed my worms? 

Worms can eat anything that was once living, but there are a few considerations you may want to make. 

1. Just because they can eat it, doesn't mean they love it. Just like humans, worms have preferences on the types of foods they like the most. 
2. Worms thrive best with a diverse diet. Mixing up their foods will ensure your worms can access the nutrients they need. 
3. Certain foods can affect the pH balance of your worm bin, so you'll want to avoid highly acidic foods, sugars and processed foods, as well as salts.
4. Freezing and later thawing foods and food scraps can make them more easily digestible to your worms. 
5. Especially if you are keeping your worms indoors, you will want to exclude foods that may cause strong odors or attract pests such as fungus gnats.
